Norwich Swearing-In Ceremony

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

NORWICH, CT - A badge pinning ceremony was held September 7th for the two newest members of the Norwich Fire Department. The ceremony was attended by family and friends of both members, as well as other department members.

Both firefighters come to the NFD certified from the Fire Academy Recruit Program and attended this program on their own, prior to hiring. With this certification, they will be able to complete a week of orientation and be assigned to their platoon.

Noah Parlato will be assigned to Platoon 3 upon completion of orientation. His mother, Eileen Parlato, a retired Battalion Chief of the East Haven Fire Department, pinned his badge.

Ronald Desroches, Jr. will be assigned to Platoon 4 upon completion of orientation. His father, Ronald Desroches, a Battalion Chief with the Hamden Fire Department, pinned his badge.

We wish these members well as they embark on a rewarding career in the fire service.
