Newbury, NH - Newbury emergency crews responded to a serious motor vehicle collision Saturday afternoon that resulted in a five-hour closure of Route 103A near the Fells.

At approximately 2 p.m. on August 29, Newbury Fire Rescue, Newbury Police, New Hampshire State Police, New London Police and New London Ambulance were dispatched to the crash. The collision involved two vehicles and prompted a significant emergency response.

One person was transported from the scene by ambulance and later flown by DHART helicopter to a hospital for further treatment.

Following the crash, Route 103A was closed to traffic while authorities investigated the incident. Police diverted vehicles at Route 103 and Bowles Road as the roadway remained inaccessible.

New Hampshire State Police’s accident reconstruction team was called to the scene to conduct a detailed investigation. The road remained closed until the reconstruction work was completed.

Once the investigation concluded, two flatbed tow trucks arrived and removed both damaged vehicles from the roadway. Route 103A was then reopened to traffic after approximately five hours.
