HOLLAND, NY — August 8 — Newton Abbott Fire Company, Inc., situated at 3426 Abbott Road in Hamburg, New York, provided mutual aid to the Town of Holland following a reported working commercial structure fire on Route 16.

Newton Abbott Rescue 3 deployed a crew to support Rapid Intervention Team/Firefighter Assist and Search Team (FAST) operations. This crew was on standby to enter the structure if any firefighters were injured, trapped, disoriented, or needed urgent help.

The FAST team remained stationed outside the fire area while firefighting efforts were ongoing. Rescue 3 stayed at the scene until the situation was under control and further assistance was no longer necessary.

The Town of Holland stated that its fire district offers both fire and ambulance services, and that the Holland Fire Department operates from local stations within the community. New York Route 16 passes through the Town of Holland and was the location where the incident occurred.
