Working Fire on Deer Park’s West Side: RV and Passenger Vehicle Fully Engulfed

Deer Park, NY - Fast action by the Deer Park Volunteer Fire Department and neighboring mutual aid agencies prevented a heavy vehicle blaze from consuming a residential dwelling on the town's west side on Friday, September 25, 2026.

Deer Park fire units were dispatched to the scene for a confirmed working fire. Arriving responders encountered an intense outdoor fire involving a recreational vehicle (RV) and an adjacent passenger automobile, with flames already actively extending into the siding and exterior structure of a nearby private residence.

Handline crews immediately initiated an aggressive, dual-pronged attack, stretching lines to suppress the fully involved vehicles while simultaneously laying a protective barrier to halt fire progression inside the home. Supported by responding mutual aid departments, crews quickly checked for interior extension, snuffed out exterior structural fire run, and brought the multi-vehicle and residential fire under complete control.

Through rapid coordination across all responding apparatus and mutual aid assets, first responders successfully protected the bulk of the home and brought the high-intensity incident to a safe conclusion.
