HOLYOKE, Mass. (Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2025) — A fire that broke out in the attic of a two-and-a-half-story home on Orchard Street was quickly contained Wednesday evening, officials said.

The Holyoke Fire Department was dispatched at 6:05 p.m. to 2 Orchard St., where arriving crews found smoke coming from the attic. Firefighters made an aggressive interior attack, knocking down the bulk of the fire within 10 minutes.

The attic and second-floor ceiling sustained fire damage, but all occupants safely evacuated, according to the department. No injuries were reported.

The Holyoke Fire Investigation Unit is investigating the cause. Police and Cataldo Ambulance also assisted at the scene.
