CHICOPEE, Mass. (Friday, Aug. 1, 2025) — A fire at a Chicopee business early Friday was held in check by the building’s sprinkler system until firefighters arrived and fully extinguished the blaze, officials said.
Crews were dispatched around 5:37 a.m. to 106 Lonczak Drive, where employees had evacuated after alarms sounded. Firefighters were told one person had not gotten out and located the individual inside, assisting them to safety.
The fire began in a compressor room. No injuries were reported, according to the Chicopee Fire Department.
Business owners are working to restore normal operations.
