WEST SENECA, N.Y. — August 18 — The East Seneca Fire Company, part of the West Seneca Fire District No.4, provided mutual aid during a significant garage fire that involved the Reserve Fire Company. The East Seneca Fire Company operates from 100 Lein Road, West Seneca, NY 14224, as noted by the Town of West Seneca and Erie County.

East Seneca Engine 1 was called to the scene after the fire was first reported as a shed fire.

While en route, firefighters observed a large column of black smoke rising from the East Seneca station. Upon arrival, they found a large garage with severe fire conditions. The fire involved multiple vehicles, both attached and detached outbuildings, and hazardous materials such as propane and acetylene, as stated in a report from Seneca Hose Company No.1.

The East Seneca crew arrived second on the scene and quickly secured a water supply before deploying additional handlines to assist with fire suppression efforts.

The response highlighted the importance of mutual-aid resources in handling a complex fire that required extra hose lines, water supply, and additional manpower.
