East Farmingdale, NY - Volunteer firefighters from the East Farmingdale Volunteer Fire Company deployed an aerial apparatus Thursday, September 24, 2026, providing crucial truck company operations to assist the North Babylon Volunteer Fire Company at the scene of a working residential structure fire.

East Farmingdale was activated on mutual aid to supply an aerial ladder to bolster fireground operations. Ladder 1-5-15, under the direct command of Captain Maniscalco, arrived on scene as the first-due truck company.

Upon arrival, ladder personnel immediately integrated into frontline truck duties, forcing entry, executing primary searches for trapped occupants, and performing tactical vertical and horizontal ventilation to clear superheated gases and heavy smoke from the structure.

As interior attack teams brought the fire under control, the crew conducted extensive overhaul operations, opening interior walls and ceilings to detect and extinguish concealed fire pockets.

All responding East Farmingdale personnel and apparatus operated under the direction of 2nd Assistant Chief Michael Kilbridge Jr. before completing overhaul assignments and returning to quarters.
