BUFFALO, N.Y. — August 16 — The Buffalo Fire Department attended to a two-alarm fire at a structure on Trenton Avenue early on Sunday morning.The incident caused damage to three buildings and resulted in injuries to five firefighters.

The fire was first reported around 3:15 a.m.

at an empty house located on Trenton Avenue near Virginia Street.As the situation escalated, more firefighters were dispatched, and the incident was upgraded to a second alarm.The flames were controlled within approximately 30 minutes, although two adjacent buildings were also affected.One of these buildings was later found to be unoccupied.

During the firefighting efforts, five firefighters were injured.

Four of them sustained burns, while one firefighter suffered a knee injury.All five individuals were taken to Erie County Medical Center and were eventually released from the hospital.

Three residents from a nearby apartment building were forced to leave their homes and received help from the American Red Cross.
