At approximately 11:50 this morning, Gilsum Fire/Rescue was dispatched to Alstead Hill Road for a reported vehicle fire. Police arrived first and confirmed a fully involved vehicle fire with brush exposure.

Engine 1 and Tanker 2 arrived shortly after and crews deployed handlines to begin fire attack. Due to the vehicle’s heavy fuel load, extensive efforts were required to bring the fire under control.

Recognizing the significant water demand, Alstead Fire and Rescue was requested to the scene with their tanker. Their assistance proved critical, and we extend our sincere thanks for their support. Without their help, sufficient water supply to safely manage the incident would not have been possible.
