BRANCHBURG, NJ — Aug. 17 — Fire and rescue teams responded on Monday afternoon to a reported fire on Old York Road near South Branch Road in Branchburg.Upon investigation, it was found that the incident involved a lawnmower burning in a backyard.

The emergency call was sent out around 3:57 p.m.

Country Hills Volunteer Fire Company was the first to arrive on the scene, followed by North Branch Volunteer Fire Company, Readington Volunteer Fire Company, and the Branchburg Rescue Squad.

While the emergency teams were en route, Branchburg Police provided an update that the fire had been extinguished.

Chief 24 arrived and confirmed that the incident involved a lawnmower that had caught fire in the backyard.

Squad 24, Engine 49-3, and Squad 32 then arrived at the scene.

There were no reports of further fire spread or significant structural damage.

The response involved several volunteer emergency service organizations that serve Branchburg Township.

Township information states that Country Hills, North Branch, and Readington are volunteer fire companies that serve the community, while the Branchburg Rescue Squad provides emergency medical and rescue services.

This incident emphasized the importance of timely reporting and quick response to outdoor fires.

Although the fire was limited to a lawnmower, firefighters still responded to investigate the situation and ensure there were no other dangers or fire spread.
