Wyckoff, NJ - On July 30 in Bergen County, the Wyckoff Volunteer Fire Department responded to a report of a fallen electrical transformer at a commercial building on Wyckoff Avenue.
Upon arrival, crews confirmed that a power transformer had come down from a utility pole, resulting in a power disruption affecting multiple adjoining businesses in the area. The incident also posed an electrical hazard and required immediate scene control.
Firefighters secured the area to ensure public and responder safety and conducted spill containment measures to address any potential leakage associated with the transformer.
The utility company was requested to the location to carry out necessary repairs and restore electrical service. The coordinated response ensured the hazard was contained and the scene was safely turned over to utility personnel.
