DOWNE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025) — Downe Township Fire/Rescue and Dive Team members conducted a company drill Tuesday night, practicing fireground operations with both engine and tender companies, officials said.

A four-person engine company and a two-person tender company were assigned to the exercise. The nozzle firefighter advanced a hoseline to the door, the irons firefighter forced entry, and the officer completed a 360-degree size-up before the crew moved into the structure.

While the engine company stretched the line, the tender company and engine operator established a booster backup water supply using a three-inch line.

Members rotated through all positions, giving them the chance to practice roles they do not normally perform. The department said the training was designed to build versatility and strengthen teamwork.
