NEWBURGH, NY - On August 23rd, Winona Lake and Orange Lake FDs, along with NYS and Town of Newburgh Police, and Town of Newburgh EMS, responded to a serious vehicle rollover on Interstate 84 eastbound, about a quarter mile from the North Fletcher Drive overpass. The vehicle was found upside down in a wooded area off the eastbound lane. Firefighters extricated one subject from the vehicle. Three others were already out when firefighters arrived. Town of Newburgh EMS initially requested a Medevac launched, but then canceled it and transported the subject to Montefiore/St. Luke's Hospital. Interstate 84 eastbound was down to one lane while an investigation was done. Troopers at the scene called BCI from SP Montgomery to the scene. NYS Police are investigating the cause.
