PRESTON, CT - At 5:56 P.M. on Saturday, August 19th, the Preston Fire Department, CT State Police and an American Ambulance Paramedic were dispatched to Military Highway near the former Norwich State Hospital for a reported plane crash. Engine 11 arrived finding a single-engine plane that had an emergency landing in the field. The crew stretched a dry one-and-three-quarter-inch hose line for a minor fuel leak. Luckily, both souls on board were able to safely exit the plane and were not injured. Crews held the scene while the Federal Aviation Administration investigated.
