Tyrone, Pa. — August 2 — On Interstate 99 heading south, close to the Tyrone exit, Neptune Fire Company responded to a car accident. While emergency personnel were on the scene, the collision limited the route to one lane. Fire and rescue assistance was provided by Engine 34, Captain 34, Rescue 33, and Utility 34. While traffic limits were in effect while the issue was being addressed, crews stayed on the highway.
Serving the boro and neighboring villages, Neptune Fire Company was based at 1701 Lincoln Ave. in Tyrone. For automobile wrecks, rescue calls, and situations needing fire company aid, the department kept qualified personnel and equipment on hand.
