At before 4:15 p.m. on August 13, Franklin Fire Company Station 4 responded to a reported mobile home fire in St. Thomas Township's 2300 block of Apple Way Road.

When Assistant Chief 48 Himes arrived, he saw smoke coming from a single-wide mobile home. After arriving, Engine 45 and Assistant Chief Himes launched a fire attack. In the living room, workers found a tiny fire and put it out right away. After opening the house, firefighters verified that no one was there.

Company 18, Station 4, and Company 13 were the targets of Command's retaliation. For overhaul and wet-down procedures, crews stayed on the scene for about an hour.
