Commercial Building Smoke Incident Traced to HVAC Failure on Second Street Pike

Northampton TWP, PA - Firefighters from Northampton Township Fire Department responded on Box 3-28 for a reported smoke condition inside a commercial structure in the 800 block of Second Street Pike.
Upon arrival, crews confirmed smoke inside the building and began a systematic investigation. The source was quickly located to a failed belt within an HVAC unit, which had burned and produced the smoke condition. No active fire extension was found.
Crews secured the unit, ventilated the structure, and ensured the area was safe before clearing the scene. The incident highlighted the effectiveness of coordinated operations with mutual aid partners, including Newtown Fire Rescue, Warminster Fire Department, Lingohocken Fire Company, Southampton Fire Company No. 1, along with support from Northampton Township Police Department.
