Saxton, PA - Firefighters from Saxton Volunteer Fire Company responded to a reported commercial building fire at the intersection of Broad Top Mountain Road and Weavers Falls Road. Chief 35 arrived to find a working fire involving storage units and established command.

Upon arrival, Engine 35 deployed a 2½-inch handline with a smooth bore nozzle and began an aggressive exterior attack. A second 1¾-inch line was advanced to assist with suppression. With the help of property owners and bystanders who were opening units for access, crews were able to quickly knock down the bulk of the fire.

Firefighters transitioned to interior operations to extinguish remaining hot spots and conduct overhaul. Due to the rapid progress made by first-arriving units, the assignment was reduced as additional companies were released. Mutual aid companies from Bedford, Huntingdon, and Blair counties assisted or were assigned to the incident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
