West Lawn, PA - Firefighters from Township of Spring Fire Rescue Services responded as part of a mutual aid assignment to a reported vehicle fire along Route 222 Northbound in Cumru Township. Engine 85 arrived on scene to find a vehicle with a well-involved engine compartment fire that had also extended into a small grass fire nearby.

Crew members quickly deployed a front bumper attack line and initiated fire suppression operations, working to knock down the flames and prevent further spread. The fire was brought under control by responding units, and crews remained on scene to conduct overhaul and ensure complete extinguishment of all remaining hot spots.

Fire police from Township of Spring also responded and assisted Cumru Township Fire Police and local law enforcement with traffic control, maintaining a safe work zone for emergency personnel and tow operators. Engine 85 remained on location until the damaged vehicle was removed from the roadway, after which all units cleared the scene.
