Carnegie, PA. — July 11 — A reported house fire with potential entrapment prompted the Carnegie Volunteer Fire Department to rush to Flynn Avenue. Engine 118 responded first because there was smoke coming from a one-story ranch house. Crews were informed that the fire was in the basement and that someone might still be there. Firefighters investigated the house, but they were unable to locate any people.

While other crews assisted with the event, Engine 118 worked on overhaul and suppression operations. Before going back to work, firefighters stayed on the scene for a number of hours. The cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding it were being looked into by the Allegheny County Fire Marshal's Office.
