On July 21, just before 4 p.m., Franklin Fire Company Station 4 and local emergency medical services arrived at the Route 11 Pit Stop on Philadelphia Avenue in response to a complaint of a biker being struck by a tractor-trailer.
When the crews arrived, they discovered a man on an e-bike that had collided with the tractor-trailer. After evaluating the patient, EMS took him to a local trauma hospital. Traffic was managed at the location by fire police.
The Holmatro air bag systems were the subject of the Franklin firefighters' routine training exercise later that evening. Members had the chance to study equipment operation and maintain skills utilized during vehicle rescue emergencies during the practical session.
