Girardville, PA - Girardville Fire Department was dispatched to a reported pole fire in the borough, with initial information indicating a utility pole fire. While units were responding, additional information reported smoke coming from a nearby basement several blocks away.

Chief 45 arrived on scene and confirmed conditions, directing incoming units to the updated location. Engine 45-10 and Engine 45-12 responded, with Engine 45-12 stretching an attack line to the rear of the structure while additional crews deployed ventilation equipment. Personnel from Engine 45-11 assisted with manpower on scene.

Firefighters located a small fire in the basement and quickly brought it under control, preventing further extension. Units remained on scene until the power company secured electrical service to the structure. Fire Police maintained a roadway shutdown during operations until the scene was cleared and the roadway reopened.
