Chimney Fire Response Leads to Quick Resolution in Girardville
Girardville, PA - Girardville Fire Department, along with first-alarm mutual aid companies, responded to a reported house fire in the borough after receiving reports of smoke from a residence. While units were responding, the location was updated, with black smoke observed coming from a chimney in the middle of a row home.
Upon investigation, crews determined the issue was caused by a malfunctioning oil burner. Firefighters secured and shut down the system, eliminating the hazard before it could extend into a larger fire.
With the situation quickly brought under control, the incident was scaled back to Girardville units and eventually held to chief officers on scene. Additional responding units were canceled and returned to service.
