On July 15, Clearfield Fire Department Squad 1 arrived at South Park in response to an unlawful fire close to a residence. After putting out the fire, firefighters informed the locals about the borough's rules against outdoor burning.

Burning solid garbage, including leaf waste, is forbidden in the boro unless done in compliance with applicable legislation, according to Boro Ordinance 432-15, Section B.
