Botsford, CT - Botsford Fire Rescue responded with Engine 551 and Tanker 557 to a reported structure fire in the Newtown Hook & Ladder first-due area, where multiple callers reported a building on fire.

Firefighters operated alongside area departments and successfully confined the fire to the business of origin. Adjacent businesses sustained primarily smoke damage along with limited ceiling damage.

Stepney Fire Department established a Rapid Intervention Team on scene. Newtown Ambulance, the medic unit, and Newtown Police Department provided support during the incident.

The buildings were unoccupied at the time, and no firefighter injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Newtown Fire Marshal’s Office.
