Gas Station becomes Crash Station in Shirley

Shirley Ny- On the evening of July 30th a member from Shirley Ambulance was pulling up to the BP gas on Montauk Highway Near Camp Upton Rd when he discovered a vehicle on the sidewalk near a fire hydrant. Upon investigating he found the vehicle was involved in a minor traffic collision and called in to medcom to activate his department as well as Brookhaven fire department to the scene.

Brookhaven Rescue 4 and Engine 5 were both on scene within minutes. No one was trapped in the vehicles so under the command of Chief DiPinto firefighters went to work securing the vehicles and cleaning up any fluids and debris. Members from Shirley ambulance evaluated the occupants of both vehicles at least 1 person was taken to Long Island Community Hospital for treatment.
