Mutual Aid Boat Fire Response on Lake Champlain

Colchester, VT - The Colchester Fire Department responded with Fireboat 5 to a reported fully involved boat fire on Lake Champlain near Stave Island, where three occupants had entered the water.
Upon arrival south of Valcour Island, crews assisted other responding agencies with fire suppression and completed overhaul operations to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.
The vessel’s occupants were safely accounted for by assisting agencies. Following completion of operations, Fireboat 5 cleared the scene and returned to service.
