Colchester, VT - The Colchester Fire Department responded with Colchester Rescue Squad, Colchester Police Department, and Saint Michael's College Fire and Rescue to an unusual odor reported inside a Main Street building.
Crews confirmed the building was evacuated and learned a commercial dye product had an unexpected reaction during use, causing the odor and minor illness symptoms among occupants.
The Vermont Hazardous Materials Response Team conducted atmospheric monitoring and found no hazardous conditions. One individual sought medical evaluation, and the building was later deemed safe and returned to occupants.
