Working Fire Extends from Exterior to Attic at Vacant Structure
Auburn, ME - The Auburn - Maine Fire Department responded alongside police to a reported structure fire on Court Street, where crews arrived to find a working fire on the rear exterior of the building.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the exterior fire; however, flames had extended into the attic space, requiring additional suppression and overhaul operations. Crews worked to bring the fire under control within a short period while checking for further extension throughout the structure.
The building was confirmed to be vacant at the time, and no injuries were reported. Mutual aid departments assisted on scene, while additional agencies supported operations and provided station coverage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the appropriate authorities.
