Sprinkler System Contains Apartment Fire, Limits Damage
Attleboro, MA - The Attleboro Fire Department responded to a reported fire in a multi-unit apartment building on Dean Street, where crews arrived to find smoke showing from the second floor.
Firefighters discovered that the building’s automatic sprinkler system had activated, successfully containing the fire to the apartment of origin. Crews quickly extinguished the remaining fire and checked for extension throughout the structure.
While the fire was confined to a single unit, smoke and water damage impacted other areas of the building, resulting in the temporary displacement of residents.
The incident highlights the critical role of properly maintained fire protection systems in limiting fire spread and reducing overall damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
