Warwick, R.I. — July 3 — Canteen 1 to 22 Meader St. in Lincoln was deployed by the Special Signal Fire Association/Providence Canteen, 100 Minnesota Ave., Warwick, RI 02888, to assist firemen responding to a third-alarm structure fire. For workers engaged in prolonged suppression and overhaul activities, the unit offered recuperation services, refreshments, and hydration.

Under the state's mutual aid program, fire departments from all throughout northern Rhode Island reacted to contain the fire and safeguard neighboring properties. The reaction showed how crucial rehabilitation units are to firefighter safety, operational preparedness, and crew sustainment during protracted disaster situations.
