MVC Brought Little Compton Crews to West Main Road

Little Compton, RI — September 15 — Little Compton Fire Department Squad 1 and its team were sent to a reported motor vehicle crash on West Main Road after being involved in an active structure fire. While the crew attended to the crash, the department continued its efforts at the structure fire. A Tiverton rescue unit was also called to assist with the medical care of the driver involved in the collision.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and helped with the initial emergency response.

During the crash, one power pole was damaged, creating an extra danger on the road.Rhode Island Energy was called to deal with the damaged utility equipment and assist in securing the area.

A wrecker was also dispatched to help with the vehicle and clear the crash site.

Fire and rescue personnel focused on caring for the patient, ensuring the scene was safe, and coordinating with the utility and towing crews.

Little Compton Fire Department is based at 60 Simmons Road and provides fire, rescue, and emergency services to the local community.

The department also collaborates with neighboring agencies through a regional mutual-aid system when more personnel or equipment are needed.

The incident on West Main Road occurred while Little Compton firefighters were already responding to another emergency, requiring the department to reassign available resources to the MVC and work with outside agencies.
