Troy, Vt. — July 24 — In order to help the Potton Fire Department with a completely involved structure fire, the Troy Vol. Fire Department, located at 6850 VT Route 100, Troy, VT 05868, responded to Potton, Quebec. Alongside local crews, Ladder 1, Tanker 2, and Rescue 5 assisted with fire suppression efforts. In order to offer assistance to one another, the North Troy Fire Department also responded across the border.
In order to contain the fire and safeguard surrounding properties, firefighters collaborated. The response was a reflection of the long-standing cross-border collaboration between the emergency services of Vermont and Quebec, wherein neighboring departments often supported one another during major crises that called for more staff and equipment.
