July 28, 2020 – Pitcairn, Allegheny County – At 2:47pm, fire units were dispatched to the 500 block of Coal Street for a report of smoke and flames coming from the roof of a house. Pitcairn Chief arrived on-scene confirming a working fire in a one-story single-family home. Pitcairn Engine 233 arrived first, taking a hydrant and dropping a supply line then went to work off tank water until the supply line was established. As mutual aid units arrived, interior crews made a good knock on the fire. A crew went to the roof for ventilation and the fire was quickly brought under control. Crews remained on-scene for about an hour to perform overhaul. No one was injured and the fire is under investigation.
