On July 10, 2026, at 11:35 PM, multiple calls poured into the Saratoga County Emergency Communication Center for a fully involved house fire at 8 Dover Place in the West Crescent Fire District. The West Crescent Fire Department, Boght Community Fire Company for the rapid intervention crew, Clifton Park Fire Department, Hillcrest Fire Department, Waterford-Halfmoon Fire Department, Mechanicville Fire Department, Visher Ferry Fire Department, and Jonesville Fire Department was dispatched to the scene. The first arriving law-enforcement units on scene notified the dispatcher that the house was fully involved with possible entrapment. The first arriving chief on scene immediately transmitted the second alarm and notified the dispatcher that he was checking to see if the house was occupied. The neighboring house on the bravo side of the structure began to have heat damage to the siding.

The first arriving engine on scene immediately took up defensive operations with multiple master streams and hand lines as there was a fire hydrant in front of the structure. In the front of the structure the power lines had burned off of the home and landed in the grass nearby and national grid was requested to the scene to kill power to the down power lines. The Boght Fire Company who was the rapid intervention crew immediately upon their arrival went to work with their truck company going into master stream operations. Command was able to confirm that there was no occupants inside of the structure in the home was unoccupied. With the heavy fire condition the roof had collapsed into the first floor of the structure along with part of the second floor.

Firefighters deployed multiple supply lines from hydrants at the end of the street to establish a water supply to be able to supply multiple master streams. Firefighters continued to work for an extended period of time knocking down the heavy fire condition. Fire Investigator’s arrived on scene and began to conduct their investigation into the fire. As the heavy fire condition was brought under control firefighters began to make entry onto the first-floor area to pull apart and gain access to the remaining hotspots. Firefighters conducted extensive overhaul until the early hours of the morning. Firefighters checked the neighboring home for any type of extension. Multiple cover companies covered for departments on scene while crews operated on scene until around 3:30 AM. No injuries were reported.
