Pittsburgh, PA. — July 7 — When a commercial vehicle hit a building in the 900 block of Route 8, the Department Shaler Villa Volunteer Fire Company, located at 960 Saxonburg Blvd., responded with mutual assistance companies. Significant structural damage was reported by the chief who arrived first. While firefighters secured the area, rescue workers used lumber and rescue struts to support the structure and stop it from moving further.
There were no reported injuries. A crucial rescue procedure that safeguards responders and facilitates safe damage assessment is building stability. While firefighters finished their work, Shaler Township Police looked into what caused the collision. The synchronized reaction demonstrated the need of mutual aid alliances, collaboration, and technical rescue training.
