Shaler Villa Fire Company Responded to Entrapment Crash

Pittsburgh, PA. — July 3 — Several emergency response agencies were brought together by the Department Shaler Villa Volunteer Fire Company, located at 960 Saxonburg Blvd., to attend to a car accident with reported entrapment. While Shaler Hampton EMS administered medical attention inside the automobile, rescue personnel finished a side removal to safely remove the occupants.


After being released, the residents were sent to a nearby hospital for assessment. Elfinwild Fire Company, Undercliff Volunteer Fire Company, Shaler Township Police Department, and Shaler Fire Police provided additional support. During technical rescue and emergency medical crises, the coordinated operation demonstrated the importance of teamwork, good incident command, specialized vehicle rescue training, and mutual aid.
