Mutual Aid Crews Assisted at McCandless House Fire

Pittsburgh, PA. — July 14 — Flames were found in a single-story home's attic, prompting the Highland Volunteer Fire Department to react to a suspected residential building fire. Before firefighters arrived, residents were safely evacuated, and workers swiftly contained the fire. There were no reported injuries. The American Red Cross and utility companies helped the evacuated residents as the Allegheny County Fire Marshal looked into the cause.


Fireground activities and coverage assignments were assisted by mutual assistance organizations from Ingomar, Peebles District, Franklin Park, Perrysville, West View, Wexford, and Berkeley Hills. The coordinated reaction demonstrated the importance of regional alliances in preserving emergency service preparedness and safeguarding communities.
