The City of Norwalk Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 10:14 pm.
The fire was located at #115 Stuart Ave. in a 1.5 story residence. Norwalk combined dispatch reported to the responding companies that they were receiving multiple calls for a house fire with possible people still inside.
First arriving companies reported heavy fire in the rear of the house extending into both floors. Fire also had extended to a detached garage, with a neighbor’s house starting to off-gas as the siding was melting due to the heat of the fire. A 2nd and 3rd alarm were quickly struck bringing all 5 Norwalk Engines to the scene. Hand lines were stretched to both floors of the residence as well as to the exterior of the structure. Primary and secondary searches were conducted while the building was horizontally and vertically ventilated and the power secured. The bulk of the fire was knocked down within 20 minutes. Fortunately, there was nobody home in the residence.
The fire is currently being investigated by the Norwalk Fire Marshal’s Office. There were no reported injuries. The residence was under renovation and therefore there were no people displaced.
