Before responding to a neighboring structure fire on June 22, members of Stafford Fire Department No. 1 received firefighter CPR training during their weekly meeting.

Crews were sent to the scene as training came to an end, and the first unit arrived in three minutes. Within minutes, firefighters limited the fire to just one room and put it out. The quick action and a resident's decision to shut the door to the damaged room were credited by department officials with preventing the fire from spreading further.
