TROY, NY - On June 28th, the City of Troy Fire Department responded for a vehicle fire in front of 73 Pawling Avenue. The Rensselaer County Emergency Communication Center was receiving multiple calls for a well-involved car fire. Engine 2's crew was pulling back into the station with the ambulance when the call came out and crews quickly transitioned onto the engine and made their way down to the vehicle fire.
On arrival, firefighters had a well-involved engine compartment fire in a SUV. Crews quickly knocked down the fire and brought the incident under control. Troy Police arrived on scene and shut down the roadway temporarily, but vehicles kept blowing around the police car at the intersection while firefighters had hand lines deployed and working in the roadway. The vehicle fire is under investigation to determine the cause. The fire is not considered suspicious in nature.
