FARMINGDALE, NY - At approximately 2:05 P.M. on June 24th, the East Farmingdale Fire Co. was alerted for a building fire at 1633 New Highway, cross of Conklin Street.
Upon the arrival of the Chief of Department Scott Lewis, he had smoke showing. Soon after a working fire was transmitted, a request was made calling in an engine from Farmingdale and a ladder from South Farmingdale. Once 1-5-6 arrived on scene, they used their deck gun to knock down the fire in the transfer facility. With assistance from a payloader, the trash was able to be moved around and it was all able to be wet down.

There were no reported injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation by Long Island Railroad Fire Marshal. Units operated under the Chief of the East Farmingdale Fire Co., Scott Lewis (1-5-30).
