The Old Saybrook Fire Department responded to an incident on May 30th when an inhabited car became entangled with energized power lines beneath a fallen tree.

According to officials, when firemen arrived, they saw the tree lying on the car, but they were unable to perform an urgent rescue because of utility hazards. Before firefighters securely removed the tree from the vehicle, Eversource Energy personnel responded to safeguard the electrical dangers.
