NEWBURGH, NY - Gardnertown Commons, a new development on Gardnertown Road, held an Open House on Sunday, June 6th. Residents came out and watched Good Will FD do various drills on their equipment. They hooked up to hydrant, stretched a hose line and sprayed water. Children were treated to plastic helmets and the adults were asked if they were interested in joining the Fire Department. Hot dogs, soda and water were given out. Also, there was an extrication drill of a vehicle Good-Will FD brought there. Most people were heading into the community center where the air conditioner was on, as it was a very hot day. Orange County Sheriff Carl Dubois stopped by and talked to the residents of the Commons. Children received tours of the fire engines and there was information available for the adults at a table that firefighters were handing out.
