At 12:56 am on Thursday, 5/29/25 the Chaplin Fire Department with mutual aid from North Windham Engine 102, Willimantic Engine 101, Eastford Engine 271, Mansfield Squad 407, Uconn FAST, KB Ambulance and a Windham Paramedic were dispatched to 811 Phoenixville Road for a house fire. 

At 1:04, Car 9 requested Chaplin to be retoned and added Hampton. Car 9 arrived at 1:09 with heavy fire from a 2 story wood frame residential home and requested 5 additional tankers. Scotland, Bungay, Windham Center, Columbia, and Willington Hill were then dispatched for tankers. 

Crews stretched multiple lines from Engine 102 and Engine 101. The Chaplin Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
