Mobile home burns in Ledyard

On May 19, 2025 at approximately 0140 the Ledyard and Gales Ferry Fire Companies were dispatched to Rosemarie Ct for a structure fire. 


While en route, Ledyard dispatch advised that they were taking multiple calls and that everyone was out. A working fire was transmitted adding the Ledyard Career staff, Poquetanuck, Mashantucket Pequot, Old Mystic, Center Groton, American Ambulance and Moheagn Tribe for the FAST.


First arriving officer found a single story mobile home heavily involved, with an active propane tank fire on the C side. 


Gales Ferry Ladder 25 and Ledyard Engine 13 arrived and placed a deck gun in operation, as well as a 2-1/2” attack line and established a water supply from a hydrant located in front of the address. 


Gales Ferry Engine 21 sent their manpower up while Ledyard Engine 11 laid a 5” supply line from the second hydrant. 


Additional hand lines were put in place and the bulk of the fire was knocked down. Companies remained on scene for approximately 3 hours extinguishing numerous hot spots. 


Laurel Hill and North Stonington provided coverage for both stations. 


The Ledyard Fire Marshals office is investigating the cause.
