Second-Alarm Apartment Fire Forces Evacuation
Beaver, PA - The City of Beaver Falls Fire Department responded with Rochester Fire Department to a reported apartment building fire, arriving to find heavy fire on the first floor with extension upward.
Engine 11 was assigned to upper floors, where crews knocked down fire on the second floor before encountering extreme heat on the third. As conditions worsened and fire vented through the roof, command ordered all crews out of the building and transitioned to defensive operations.
Additional units responded on a second alarm, with aerial master streams bringing the bulk of the fire under control. Crews later re-entered to check for extension.
Four firefighters sustained minor injuries, with one transported for evaluation. Crews operated for several hours before clearing the scene.
