Fire Displaces About 30 Residents in New Britain

NEW BRITAIN, CT - Nearly 30 residents were displaced after fire heavily damaged the rear of 189 Oak Street on May 24th around 7:30 P.M.
The rear porches were fully involved with fire extending up into the attic at the three-story brick building. Firefighters made a strong push on the fire, knocking down the flames and holding the damage to the rear of the building and above attic area. Two cars in the rear lot also received damage.
The cause of the two-alarm fire is under investigation.
