Bergen County Strike Team Operates at 10-Alarm Fire

As a member of the Bergen County Battalion 1 Strike Team, the Englewood Cliffs Fire Department arrived in Belleville, Essex County, at 5:22 p.m. on May 4th to help with a significant multi-alarm fire involving multiple industrial buildings.
According to officials, during the protracted mutual aid reaction, EC-9, EC-7, and EC-1 were in operation at the Belleville incident.
As part of the East Bergen Rappel squad, the department's high-angle rescue squad was sent to the State Line Lookout in Alpine at 9:51 p.m. for a cliff rescue operation while staff were still deployed there. According to officials, the victim was saved and sent to Hackensack University Medical Center in critical condition by helicopter. At the rescue site, EC-8 and Squad 5 were in operation.
The department managed both major incidents simultaneously during the evening operations.
